Manufacturing DAR responsibilities:

A. Export Certificate of Airworthiness

B. Standard Airworthiness Certificate

C. Special Airworthiness Certificate

D. Airworthiness Certification Tag

Provide preparatory service prior to start of items A to D such as:

Setting Expectations.

Dos and Don’ts.

Up Front planning.

Having the applicant and designees understand their responsibilities.

Having the applicant understand the FAA’s expectations.

Discuss Airworthiness Certification requirements.

Discuss involvement of the FAA or CAA.

Provide an overview of the certification process. Discuss the FAR and policy requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities of a Manufacturing DAR in an Airworthiness Approval Program:

Act as the Airworthiness Approval Program manager responsible for the following certification activities:

Represent the applicant and participate in progressive Type Design Approval meetings with the FAA, which relates to the issuance of Airworthiness Certificates, and Airworthiness Approval Tags.

Provide FAA regulatory, policy, and certification protocol guidance to the applicant.

Assist the applicant in preparing the aircraft for issuance of airworthiness certificate by the FAA.

Conduct airworthiness certification as required by the TIA.

Coordination of airworthiness certification activity with the FAA or CAA before actual aircraft certification.

Review of records of aircraft, engine, and propeller to determine qualification for the issuance of airworthiness certificate or certificate of airworthiness.

Document and submit to the FAA MIDO all airworthiness certification activities.

Conduct any of the 16 Authorized Functions and Limitations as stated in the DAR’s Certificate of Authority (will provide information as requested).
